About NIHES
The Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences (NIHES) was founded by Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1992 as an independent institute for advanced training in quantitative research in medicine and the health sciences. In 2022, NIHES was integrated into the Erasmus MC Graduate School. Although the institute no longer exists as a separate entity, its programmes continue within the Graduate School, offering high‑quality graduate and postgraduate education that combines theoretical and practical research training. These programmes maintain a strong international focus and longstanding collaborations with leading research centres worldwide. All programmes can be taken as Master of Science track or as stand-alone course offered through the Erasmus Summer Programme or during the academic year.
Course overview
All former NIHES courses are now part of the Research Master Health Sciences curriculum.
