About dr. S. (Sarah) Yorke-Smith

Introduction

My research interests are to understand diseases that affect people. My research involves using physical sciences to tackle biological problems. I first focused on protein misfolding, seeking to understand disease and potential interventions at the molecular level -- conditions such as cataract blindness, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.  Over time I focused more on clinical presentation of physical conditions, especially hearing loss.  I am passionate about sciencific research that can help against disabiltating conditions.
