About R.E. (Rosalieke) Wiegel
Introduction
My name is Rosalieke Wiegel, a PhD student at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. In 2018, I was selected to participate in a MSc/MD trajectory, which is a research master program in Health Sciences for students with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine. Participation in this program enabled me to explore the potential of medical research and to learn to function as an epidemiologist and researcher. Currently, I work as a PhD student before I will continue medical school training. My PhD project is connected to both the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Department of Internal Medicine. My project consists of investigating periconceptional ovarian endocrine health as determinant of early adaptation to pregnancy, with the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system as underlying mechanism.
